Real time sampled based answers the question @ the end of the day... When we realize that, I don't think this will come up again & again but then again, most won't ever realize that & to add more, most don't know what that even means...

I used to prefer the BTD at faster than realtime, as in Digital Performer, but have really learned to use Digi's version in realtime to my advantage and give it a thumbs up.

I do agree it would be nice to have it selectable as an option, but until that happens, find a way to use it to your advantage!!
Hi Eric,
How do you BTD and be able to punch in the bounce? This seems useful.
I too agree a selectable version for faster bounces just for quick references would be a time saver, then real time on the final versions.

I meant to say something of that earlier as I believe he meant RECORD to disk & not BOUNCE to disk...Its impossible to do that bouncing to disk... U'd have to start over each time from the beginning...

Bus a signal path to an audio track then just record to it. Not the same as Bounce to Disk but you can punch in.

I know I would hate nonrealtime bounce, because I am not ever going to give anyone a final mix that I have not listened to; and I much prefer listening to the final mix while I'm bouncing. It's good that way.
I always listen to my mix before I BTD.

In the early days of Pro Tools, the BTD was not audible and was as fast as your computer could process it. Somewhere along the way, they made it real time and made it so you could hear it.

I never use outboard effects, and seem to waste a lot of time bouncing files that I have already listened to.

BTD time is a good time for me to go to the DUC!

If it is possible, I'd like to see an option to choose between real time or as fast as possible.

+1 Exactly my experience, except I was coming from Sonar.

Do you mean that you can do this faster than real time? How do you do it?

One hopes they won't treat it like they did ADC and cripple it out of LE for ten years...
Why would a company put all it's features in their entry level software. Does Logic Studio have all the same features as Logic Express.
ADC ? are you too lazy to nudge tracks or too cheap to spend 50 bucks on Mellowmuse ATA?

Me too. But if you do not listen to your final bounce, how can you be sure it's all right? Usually it is, but there are some odd situations where a reverb is not what it should be (you know, those are somewhat random) and listening to the bounce while it's going is (IMO) pretty much mandatory.
