Help with Midi files
a friend sent me a midi file as a possible secrtion in a tune- I can play the midi file in WinAmp, Quicktime, etc.
when i import it into the session, it comes in as the 4 instruments, and the track shows the midi "notes"... i hit play and I can see the signal level happening, but no sound from those tracks I can see the level meters move as well as the fader/automation Input and output both give me only the Digi 002 ports with 16 possible channels... i've tried numerous combinations but although i can visually see that there's a signal happening on the fade/meter... nothing works I read the manual pg 301- 303... but nothing described seems to be of any help... It says to "Click the midi output selector for each new track and assign a Midi instrument and channel", however, other than the selections listed above I'm at a loss as to how to get any physical sound from the imported tracks It appears the imported track is a Type o MIDI help!!!

Re: Help with Midi files
do you have an instrument plug in on the track in order for the midi to play through?

Re: Help with Midi files
yes I tried an instrument track and inserted several different virtual instruments (that I'd used in earlier version of PT)... but I can't seem to get the output from the Midi track to the instrument tracks input

Re: Help with Midi files
In the edit Window the left panes have an option to show/hide things like I/O, inserts, and instruments etc. Make "intruments" show and chose the VI and routing that you desire. Unless you have done this already.
