2.8.1 upgrade for profile...

i need help! i'm working on a profile with 2.7 software and i want to be working on the latest and greatest. but i can't upgrade to L&G until i get 2.8.1 software installed, and i can find it NOWHERE!!! maybe i'm overlooking something, but i'm losing my mind, so can somebody help me???

Why don't you just upgrade to 3.0??

that's what i ultimately want to do but according to avid i have to install 2.8.1 before i do any further updates.

Really? I thought all you need to do is insert V3 disk and it overwrites whatever you had before. Actually I'm pretty sure you can do that, cause your HDD can be empty and you still can install V3
