I´ve looked into the DD-faspex offer and also SmartJog but neither offer the same functionality and price efficiency that DD has done for me so to keep my current speed and covenience specs It would mean a massive investment/month. I am willing to pay for such a service in general but more money for a slower service is not very tempting at the moment.

I´m really hesitant to go the FTP-route since it´s sensitve to packet losses and slower than DD, SmartJog, faspex and other specialized file-distribution systems. FTP has no notification system and FTP folder tend to get VERY messy over time and need serious maintenance unlike DD.

Still thinking what to do. At the moment the fact that 10.7 is going to drop rosetta is just a rumour I think but it´s unlikely that apple will support rosetta for ever so sooner or later DD will be dead for sure. It´s a shame that aspera never released the "new" (actually at least 2 years old) beta-client.

No, this only applies to up/downloads via a browser, AFAIK.
DigiDelivery is officially end of life I believe.

Rumpus will do notices. You can request a file and Rumpus will send a link to the recipient requesting they attach a file. Also notices can be generated when files have been posted.

Storage DNA will synchronize local folders with folders on remote computers. If you have a group of editors and mixers clients that are collaborating over the internet designated folders can always be in sync with each other. No file size limitations.

http://jeanmatthieu.free.fr/pureftpd/index.html works well. Not been updated for a while I think but seems fine.

We've been using Rumpus for a few years now. It's been very reliable. It's easy to setup and admin. If clients are uploading files bigger than 2 GB they can connect by FTP.

Rumpus on a Macmini has worked very well for us. The client can use either FTP or HTTP.

I can't say enough good things about Crush. Ben, the programmer is a great guy, easily approachable and constantly updating the software. The new interface is very beautiful and the price of course is fantastic. I use Rumpus at work and like it, it's easy to maintain... but for the money and support, Crush has it in spades
