using 002r as a primary sound card?

this is what im use in regards to my question

g4 1.25 ghz
digi 002r
os 10.3.2
pt 6.2.3
reason 2.0

this is what i want to do: i want to have the output of reason play through the 002. In the reason preferences tab i have 002hw selected but right after there is a red X beside it and nothing plays though the 002. * and i want to do this standalone...with re-wireing

i have the firwire properly connected.
i have the 002 slected as the g4s primary sound driver
i have the 002 outputs routed to the right place

it dosent seem that reason software can interface with the 002 directly? or can it????

i know somebody on here can help me, as this knowlege base of users on this forum is quite deep.

Hey fellow Vancouver rocker...
you need to download and install the latest Digidesign Core Audio Driver. Once set up, all sound from your PC can be routed through it.
Reason can be configured to use all the 002's outs, but only will be set up to output stereo 1 and 2 as a default.
