Urei 815a
I've inherited a set of these beasts from an old studio. They are in very bad shape. Basically, the 15" drivers are shot to hell. Luckily the drivers with the built in tweeter aren't so bad. I say so bad, they will still need re-coning. I've been in touch with JBL as they took over Urei, and was told they don't make them anymore... no sh*t... So my question is, what drivers would go in to replace these old 15s? The engineer at JBL said they didn't have anything suitable so now I'm thinking they are some strange driver as surely JBL make a 15" speaker..
Any help would be appreciated, and not just in lifting the damn things!

Re: Urei 815a
Try calling New England Speaker Tech. They are in Boston, Mass and are one of the best speaker repair/recone places in the US. Maybe they have an idea. There are some newer drivers that might be nice, but who knows how they will operate with the crossover in the UREI box? B&C make a nice 15" coaxial, but it will be a different beast with different drivers.(maybe a better beast??)
