Default Noisy HUI

Just both a HUI. When Power is on, it makes noise, I guess it's the powersuppley. Allthough the noise isn't very loud , this is inacceptable.

Could please any HUI User listen to it, if it does also any noise? It's maybe just my HUI I hope.

(You won't hear it, if any other noisy gear is on, ie Computer, Harddrive...)

thanks
Daniel

Mine's quiet. Open it up and look if the transformer is well tightened. What's the noise sounds like?
And don't hestitate to email Mackie.

My HUI is fine. If you just bought it, take it back and get another one. Mackie will also replace it. They will over night it!

Good to now that it should be quiet. the noise sounds something like a sawtouch with some slight distortion. (It's not even bad, I bought a controller and got a Soundmodule included for free!)

After 2 hours Power on it also got quit hot, too hot in my eyes. I will try to get another one tomorrow.

Please, don't be offended or anything, but I just can't help myself and want to share my amusement with you:

Read the above posts knowing the fact that HUI (at least the way we read it) in Polish means "dick".

Back to serious work

Peace

Yaro

P.S. I do hope I'm not crossing the boundaries of good taste. It's not intended.

Well I gave it back to the general distributor in Switzerland, and he looked to it and now, two weeks later (!) He sended me the Unit back, saying that every of his HUI would having this noise at a very low level and that he could understand that in a very quiet Studio this could be a problem, but this is the price to pay for the low price instead of i.e a expensiver ProControl.

Again the noise sounds like a sawtooth around 200 Hz with slight distortion. In my Studio I heard it from my normal sitting position. If you wanna check what I'm talking about, put your head about 5 cm to the right end of the Meterbridge. So near to the unit you are going to hear the noise very exactly.

Very frustrating, it seems that I have to get either a ProControl, or I stay with the HUI, but must turn it off while mastering or critical mixes. :-(

getting crazy
Daniel

Daniel,
You've ran into a very bad dealer. He's (or she) is talking nonsense. I've just put my ear onto my HUI, and finally found your tone, but all i hear is a normal hum from a transformer. It is not be heard from more than 2 cm! Tell your distrubitor to replace it. It's nonsense.

Yaro,
Can you make it, putting your ear onto Your HUI?

Do you know why dogs put their heads between their legs? Because THEY CAN reach it.

Happy new year, to all with or without a HUI.

my hui makes noise that bugs me too. i didn't notice it until i got the computer and drives way out of the room, and even removed the noisy 888/24. i record very quiet things, like foley rustle tracks, in my control room, and when i do so, i have to shut off the hui. bummer. is the pro control absolutely silent?
