Can you give us links to examples that you're talking about?
There's all kinds of voices - announcer voice-overs, actors, etc. Without knowing more plugins like McDSP Futzbox and AudioEase Speakerphone could help. You could have anything from full bandwidth audio to bandwidth limited to something like an actor talking on a telephone.

Presets can help get you close but you're going to have to adjust parameters to get you the sound you want. Generally you'd be adjusting eq and compression.
