Setting up MIDI?

I'm working with Mbox, PowerBook G4, PTLE 6.1.2, Yamaha S-90 (keys/synth), MOTU Fastlane USB, and I am having a heck of a time setting this up. I have done all that Digi requires for setups in their manuals, but there has yet to be a signal, let alone recording.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
