Default DAE error -7100

I'm having crashes and getting this error:

DAE error -7100

It typically happens when I'm opening a session. If the session opens I'll hit play have no metering then the error comes up. After quitting out of PT when I relaunch the hardware initialize hangs and then the whole CPU crashes.

PT8.03
Intel MacPro OS 10.5.8
2.8 gHz Zeon Quad Core
6 gigs ram
Rockstor Firewire 800 in external chassis
Video playback - QT out second port on graphics card
ICON D Command

when things like that happen, it is very hard to find a diagnostic. Did you do the usual stuff like, trashing prefs, re-install PT and etc, etc...? Try to disconnect firewire devices. Maybe hard disk is failling. Run Digi Test. Open activity monitor (Application-Utilities) and start PT.

i found this on google:

DAE error -7100. This error is reported by DAE and the TDM Plug-In when the application is trying to make a connection to a TDM port that is still connected. This particular error code is not an indication of a hardware problem unless it is preceded by another error message.

A cold boot of the Mac should reset the TDM bus.

but it's about PT LE
