Default v7.3.1 to v9.0 Need little assist plz

So as the subject states, I'm upgrading from v7.3.1 to v9.0 and have been having some issues I was hoping to get some help with here. Current mac i've installed v9.0 onto is a MBP 2.53/4gb ram 10.6.5.

My Mbox 2 mini (digidesign type), is not powering up via the USB, yet works on the other Mac running 10.4.x with PT v7.3.1 just fine. I tried getting drivers for the MBP but nothing is working so far, I'm also guessing the newer Mbox 2 Mini drivers for the Avid box won't work either?

I've been using DV Tool Kit 2 and was told at AES 2010 that those plug-ins will be available in 9.0. So far none are installed and after installing a few select types for v 7.3.1 - v8.0, new v9.0 PT's crashes at start up. Are all plug in's for PT's v8.0 compatible for v9.0?

Hi,

did you install PT9 as a complete new install or as an upgrade? i would uninstall previous version and run the full install then download the coreaudio driver. 10.6.5 is not qualified? though i guess it should work!!

Have you read through the 2 stickies at the top of the forum?

It explains about DV tool kit 2!! its $299 to upgrade to complete production tool kit.

Chris

Hey Chris, thanks for the info about that 299 upgrade... might have to do some serious thinking about it, someone might not get a christmas present if I go for it .

Anyways, yes.... this is a MBP that has never had an install of PT's before. Fresh install of v9.0 so far with the attached update that came along with the download. I have figured out that the plug-in's listed to work with v.8 have successfully installed and working with my previous authorizers so.. ya there. The only issue I'm having now is the Mbox 2 Mini not working.

The Digi CoreAudio Device and Pro Tools Aggregate I/O options in the System Prefs/Sound doesn't seem to see the Mbox 2 Mini when connected to the MBP. I was able to get the Mbox working with the MBP when I installed the CoreAudio_Installer_v803_64550 from Avid's site. When this driver was installed all worked well, however PT's v9.0 would not start anymore at this point, just instant crash saying it was unable to open due to "some reason".

As it stands all is working minus the Mbox interface, which I really need eventually to use my nice monitors and not the MBP speakers/headphones..etc..etc..

Hello again Chris, thanks for pointing me at the sticky again. Looking at it closer I found the correct driver this time, looks like it's all working now :)

Chris, I did not think that PT 7.3.1 would run on Snow Leopard at all?
