Default 9.0.2 crashes when setting up MIDI peripherals?

Just upgraded to 9.0.2 and I'm having issues getting Protools to recognize my M-Audio Oxygen 49 MIDI controller. I've downloaded the MIDI driver updates but when I go to change my #1 Type of controller under Midi Controllers I get the spinning wheel and Protools crashes.

Also, I tried the Digidesign MIDI I/O Firmware Updater v2.0 and even it would not recognize my USB controller when I unplugged it and replugged it holding the panic/reset button.

Not sure if I should just re-install everything or if this is a known issue. If anyone could help out I would be very thankful. I'm a film sound designer with a quick approaching deadline.

--Setup--
27' imac quad-core - 2.93Ghz intel i7 - 16GB RAM - 2TB HD - OSX 10.6.7
Protools 9.0.2 - Digi003 - 3 2TB Glyph External Drives daisy chained thru Firewire 800

Thanks,

Tyler

Default Re: 9.0.2 crashes when setting up MIDI peripherals?

I have similar situation: Upgraded from PT8 to PT9, did the driver update, the software update, etc. My Mackie HUI now does not communicate with the 003r. I've tried configuring it inside PT, nothing.
Setup:
MAC Pro 2.8
8G RAM
4Drives (320HD) (Audio500) (Library500) (Video500)

Can anyone shed some light? Why will the 003r not talk to the Jackie HUI?
Thanks,

Try trashing the specific MIDI preferences per the info in the General Troubleshooting thread.

Default Re: 9.0.2 crashes when setting up MIDI peripherals?

(Hi, I'm new. I've read entire General Troubleshooting because I have same problem)
I've tried trashing the pref files and still having same issues.

If I create a midi track with oxygen 49 blue it's fine.
If I send/receive oxygen in the midi preferences it's fine.
If I do both it crashes -in any order.

I'm extremely new to midi -Just got this yesterday so forgive me if I'm "out of line" :X3

FYI: I also have pro remote for ipad installed. I removed them out of the midi pref for the time being
Edit: Uninstalled pro remote entirely and still same prob
