Default Re: Plugin issue with PT11

Is it always the same plug-in that causes the white out?

Have you tried another track to load a plugin? (maybe a sequence of plugins on a a single track is the issue, which leads to a poorly written plugin somewhere.

Omnisphere is beta AAX, I think Superior is too (can't remember however).

You could be running out of memory but did you open the cpu/memory/disk drive monitor window to see if the system is maxing out somewhere just before you add the extra plugin that causes the issue?

Nice specs by the way. If you can afford it, add some extra memory to allow more headroom in the system.

The whiteout has never happened before. Instead of running multiple instances of the plugins I made aux busses for half of the paired tracks. It solved my problem by reducing the amount of plugins in the session. This problem only seems to happen with waves plugins. My liscense is legit and it's a clean install of my OS and waves and PT.

Also had the memory meter up plenty of times and it never spiked past 3.5 gbs.

Thanks man, tried to build the system right the first time. Although I missed the 1155 sucks thread and still need to get a video card.

FWIW, I would occasionally get the white screen crashes in PTHD 11 running Win 7 x64 on my DUC i7 960 build (it was/is rock solid with PTHD 10.X.X). The plugins that seemed to cause problems for me were Sonnox and Izotope.

I built an i7 3930K socket 2011 machine and installed Win 8 Pro. No more white screens with any plugins on PTHD 11.0.2.

I was never short of memory on the i7 960 machine.

Hope this helps,
Greg

Unfortunately for me this problem only happened with waves plugins. I'm currently hackintoshing this computer because I'm tiered of its [bleep][bleep][bleep][bleep].
