start by making all aux sends inactive. If that changes the ADC value, then its a routing issue

I know this is old, but there has never been an answer to this. I'm using an Aux track to track into an audio track. (I'm doing it to have a small amount of in the box compression going into PT) I hear my self perfect on the headphones when talking into mic, no delay. The issue is when I play back the signal recorded, it's .125 secs pushed back, so it's coming in a bit delayed. Does everything that gets routed into an AUX track get delayed, even if there are no plugs?

I'm not following you routing entirely, or what you are trying to do with compression or why... but... my first guess is this is a split buffer/playback buffer effect.

The split IO buffer in Pro Tools has been explained lots on DUC. Including way back around the days of Pro Tools 11 when it was introduced. If a path is not in an actual external IO path the buffer is 1024 or 2048 samples depending on the sample rate.
