Exclamation ProTools LE 7.4.2 Evaporates & Crashes On Playback

Hi,
Protools LE 7.4.2 Evaporates & Crashes without any error messages on playback:
Does anyone have the same problem?
I am running a Digi 002 firewire rack, Mac Lepoard OSX 10.5.4, Intel Mac 2.4,with 4GB. of ram
I performed a Clean uninstall and reinstall of PT LE 7.4.2.
Removed all prefs. with Protool Pref & Database Helper, emptied trash.
Ran Apple Disk Utility,& restarted.
Checked the Digi wed site for ProTools 7.4.2 problems.
Tried all the above many times!
Contacted Plug-in manufacturers,made sure I have downloaded the latest. Plug-ins for Lepoard,OSX 10.5.4.
Removed 3rd. party plug-in to the Digi unused plug-ins folder.
Ran just Digirack plug-ins. Crash, crash: eek:
PT 7.4.2 still crashed again, with only Digirack plug-ins.
Made sure my Apple HD is Mac OS Extended (Journaled).
Made sure my Lacie d2 500,Quadra was Mac OS X Extened (Journaled).
I cannot record or playback.
I am open to any & all suggestions.
Pulling the hair out of my head for weeks.
Thanks

You should run the hardware test (from the OSX disc) to see if that throws anything up. Faulty RAM can cause problems such as this.

I ran the hardware test and everything is ok.
Replaced the firewire to the Digi 002 rack.
The light on the rack is lit and not blinking.

Would you happen to have your FW cable plugged into the front of your Mac? The only way I can get PT to play back on my 2.8 8-core w/mbox pro II is to use a FW port on the back of the computer. The front port causes PT to puke up either low-CPU or buffer-underrun errors. Weird.

You could also try toggling the clock input to SPDIF (expect an error) then back to internal. Sometimes the hardware just needs a slap up 'side the head.

Check the post above. Using an external HD usually fixes these problems and it's always the best way to save and retrieve your data while working. GOod luck.
