Default Mbox firmware question in OS X

okay,

in my effort to put all my ducks in a row with my new setup. i felt like i should know what MBox firmware version i have. unfortunately, i can't tell what it is with the OS X Apple System Profiler. the following is all it will tell me about MBox:

+----------------------------------------------------------------------+
Mbox USB Audio Device copyright Digidesign 2001:
+----------------------------------------------------------------------+

Product ID : 4096 ($1000)
Vendor : Digidesign Inc
Device Speed : Full
Power (mA) : 500

+----------------------------------------------------------------------+

can anyone make heads or tails from this?

second question for Digi - is there an OS X derived firmware update. the current download only mentions v5.x.x and not v6, which leads me to believe it's only for OS9.

Hey dude

I believe it is the case that you would have to be booted under OS9...to change any firmware...

until you are on OSX and PT6

make since?

That is my guess...

So, try to boot up under OS9...make the change

as I am...to REV20 and then just get ready to rumble...

They will release the latest as it is ready...

Or do you know something that I haven't seen on this site yet?

I haven't gotten PT6...and I was just actually wanting to know if the rumor was true...that there is an update for us PTle users with an mBox...to goto 32 tracks...

I know that if you have the 002 it is possible...

Now all of this is on OS9...

I was also, told at the WestLA Music store that PT6 would come out first for Mac OSX then XP...,all HARDWARE including us mBox's...except for the 002

These guys will have to wait a little while until they work out the software on that thing...
HARDWARE ISSUES...normal deal...

just look at the size of the mbox to that 002.

But, can you or anyone else answer my question regarding the track count?

Is it possible to get 32 tracks with PTle software and the mBox?

the only one I seem to find is for XP users...
and is that 32 tracks?

Thanks

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Why not download the manual & read it for yourself? It's been posted for over a week now...
