We just stumbled into this last Friday, as well. A clear announcement would have saved us time and confusion...

If I try to install Element 2.0 onto my 10.8.5 system from the offline installed I get a message that there has been an error and that I should contact Waves Support. It's a 100% repeatable error. Strange. Haven't contacted support yet but when I do I'll report back.
