STRIKE doesn't run anymore

Hi forum,



You don't see me posting often, because my IMAC late 2013, OS 10.8.5 and ProTools 10.3.7 have been running smoothly.


But at the moment STRIKE (update 1,5) will not run anymore. I hope you can help me get it back on track.



I get these error messages:



"Error #-192 Unknown error"
"Protools could not load the following plugins, either no valid authorisation could be found, the ILOK key was not connected, or plugin was damaged"


After re-installing STRIKE 1.0 (both cd's) and starting ProTools again, I get "The following plugins were made inactive, because they could not be found in the plugin folder STRIKE (1)"



My question: should I de-install my STRIKE plugin and re-install it?

First reinstall the plugin and try again.

It says you have authorization issue. Check the compatibility of your iLok license manager, in case you have mistakenly updated it to incompatible (to your old system) version you may need to ask iLok for an older installer.

I did re-install STRIKE 1.0 and 1.5. But when I want to start it I get the error
that it is "not in the plugins folder".


How can I place STRIKE in the "plugins folder"? I can't find this folder. What is it's location?

AAX: /Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins

I'm afraid I'm as good with computersoftware as I am with my car's engine: not good at all.


I tried practicly the entire afternoon and big part of the evening, deleting STRIKE, re-installing, unable to find how to get STRIKE on the right location.


Very frustrating..

And you haven’t updated anything like OS or anything?

I thought we needed to have the 2.0 version for 10.3.5 and up but it was a long time ago and i am sure I am wrong there.

I think we had Version 2.0 for PT10.3.8 HD and then PT 12.X and version 3 so if you have not dome anything, do a Preferences delete and then let the computer re-find asll the plugins and see if that helps.

And the ilok key is the first Gen green ”key” shape right? All the other licenses works that is on that ilok key?

You're right: I have one old green iLok key and one 'modern' smaller one. All other licences work fine.


I downloaded the four STRIKE 1.5 cd's on an USB stick and every time I re-install it it says OK.



(My PT isn't HD, by the way).



And my STRIKE is version 1.5. Rather old, but for my recordings just fine.


I'll try a Preferences delete, as you suggest.

Strike 1.5 was released on March 6th, 2009.

On my iLok key STRIKE 1.5 is active. Does this mean that it is authorized, as far as iLok is concerned?


On the same key I see that my original STRIKE 1.0 is inactive. And I can't change that to active.



I also opened Preferences: there I see STRIKE 1.5, as if all is normal. Should I trash all what's in it and hope for the best? Or should I only delete STRIKE 1.5?

So you were right: it is an authorization issue.



Both my iLok keys seem OK. And all other plug-ins work perfect.
