Default Pushing back the entire songs start time.

I've noticed that red diamond on your time bar and I'm wondering if that really does set the start time for the ENTIRE song on EVERY track. I've tried moving it and all it seems to do is move one track around.

I want to insert a blank space of about 5 or 10 seconds before the whole song should begin. Is this how I would go about doing it?

are you trying to put a 10 sec lead in on your sessions (like to give you time to hit record, run out and get your headphones or instrument on... etc?)

If this is the case record your first track(s), waiting the desired amount of blank "time" before starting . Save, clear any extraneous noise from the blank space.

From here on out, everyone is going to have to sit thru the blank spot.

as each track is completed, clear the equivalent area from the begining. When you're all done, select all tracks and drag to zero (or when the dialog box come up hit 0 and enter)- assuming that when you're all done you'll no longer want the blank space-

there's probably other ways, but tis what I do when I'm recording by myself

Actually no, I just use a Count Off for 2 bars when I'm recording to get ready. I'm literally trying to put an empty spot of about 5-10 seconds before the track usually starts so I can record something infront of it to lead into the song.

Thanks!

I think what you want is Insert Time...

Event> Time operations

I suggest that you read up a bit about it first, as there are a few options involved..

Just search the reference guide for "insert time"... pp.694 (PTLE8)

Insert time will work but Move song start would be better.
