Default Pro Tools Mousewheel Scroll Direction

In short my 2 year old dumped water on my PC and I need to buy a new machine.

I've been Mac for years and (if remembered correctly) Shift + Mousesheel Forward advanced the timeline forward. (Towards end of timeline.)

My recent switch to PC has Shift + Mousweheel Forward moving the timeline towards the beginning of the timeline.

After years of editing, this is incredibly frustrating.

Is Mac still the way I remember it or is there a program to fix the scroll direction on PC? I've tried different programs and registry tweaks with no luck.

It's so annoying I'm considering going back to Mac.

X-Mouse Button Control will almost assuredly do what you want - with any button on your mouse - specifically per program. Best mouse driver I've ever found - and it's free.

Not at PT right now, but, IIRC, shift+scroll toward me goes down the timeline (right) and shift+scroll away from me goes up the timeline (left). It's automatic for me, so I don't think about how it works. Windows 10, but it's always been like that for me back to when this was introduced.

I have a 7 button Logitech M500. Here's how it's programmed for Pro Tools:

Set the Right Click for “B” (Separate Clip at Cursor in Commands Focus mode)

Set the Scroll Wheel Button for “Ctrl + B” (Clear) [Pro Tools on Windows does not allow “Delete” to be programmed to the Scroll Wheel Button, but it allows Alt + Wheel Button to bring up the Bounce Dialogue]

Set the Back Thumb Button for “+” (plus) on the Numeric Keypad (nudges right by the Nudge Value) [Nudge works on the cursor, selection, clip and automation]

Set the Front Thumb Button for “-” (minus) on the Numeric Keypad (nudges left by the Nudge Value) [Nudge works on the cursor, selection, clip and automation]

Set Scroll Right for Right Click

Set Scroll Left for Delete

One way to remap : Autohotkey.

The code would be :

Menu, tray, tip, Scrollwheel Reverse
WheelDown::WheelUp
WheelUp::WheelDown

Sorry to hear that. I've never had an issue with that driver - other than pilot error by not putting in the correct coding for what I wanted to do. Neither has anyone else I've recommended it to. And I've recommended it to so many people that I sent the developer a nice donation.

Maybe check the commands you input and make sure they're correct? Other than that, no idea.

If the rice trick works on my laptop, I'll give it a go again.

Certainly can't rule out user error.

I can create a custom AHK script exclusive to Pro Tools if you like. Easily done. Just let me know.

Would that be close to the one I posted,
with the addition :
#if, WinActive("ahk_class DigiFloaterClass") || WinActive("ahk_class DigiAppWndClass")
?

Slightly different. Just the regular #IfWinActive and the foundation is this:

+WheelUp::WheelDown

Compiled and running well on my end.

Appreciate it. If I get my computer running again I'll PM you for more info.
