Default 2018.7 LLM issue

Either this is messed up, or I am totally missing the boat on how it should work. I set a headphone mix to be the LLM path. According to the manual, when this track is in record, the plugins are bypassed and the track should report 0 ADC. Currently, the plugins are not bypassed and the track still reports 1 sample(for SMACK!). Next, no matter what I do, I hear(in the headphones) a doubling effect. Depending on the buffer setting, it is phasey(at 64) and an obvious slap at 1024. It doesn't matter if the rest of the tracks are reporting little latency or over 2000 samples(with lots of mix plugins active). What am I doing wrong?

HD/Native with HD and 192 IO. Headphone mix to vocal booth is the designated LLM path. Tried ADC on&off on record track(no noticeable change). Tried killing effect sends(no change). As of now, LLM is useless

It is 2018.7 and I have checked the box so sends are working. Its the doubling/phasing that makes no sense

I noticed this today on 2019.6 as well. It seems 'persist sends' also persists the inserts. This shouldn't be the case..

Why should the inserts not persist with this option enabled? I haven't read anywhere what the behaviour should or should not be, but it works the way I would have guessed, it makes sense to me.

With "Persist" disabled and LLM enabled, all sends and inserts on a rec-enabled track turn blue - but they actually continue working when playing the track. Only when you punch into REC do they stop working, which is perfect. I don't hear any doubled or late vocals through the headphones when punching this way. I'm monitoring live audio directly through UAD Console.

I guess that you are not using PT Ultimate?
My understanding is that LLM works differently on PT vs PTU.

Right, PT normal native on Windows.

What do you think is different about LLM between the two versions? I was looking for that specifically in the manual, but it doesn't say anything regarding different versions, or regarding behaviour during playback vs during recording.

I finally gave up on LLM and just set the buffer to 64 and got on with it(this started 2 years ago). Any reasonably spec'd computer should be fine with that(and I went on to record full bands without issues)

I know I know, you say that in every thread, but I have 32GB RAM and an i7 8700K chip and I can't run any session at 64 samples of buffer. I've done everything possible to clean it up, it's a new build anyway, and LatencyMon says my computer is amazing - it almost reports no latency at all - but that just doesn't work for me.

Honestly LLM is working as it should for me as of a few days ago... I'm just trying to understand the problem fully in case it happens again.
