003 Factory/Producer Factory Pro 8.0 Upgrade?

What is the 003 Factory/Producer Factory Pro 8.0 Upgrade? Is it an upgade only if you own these plugins already or does it add these plugins if you don't? I only have the free Bomb Factory plugins. It's not really clear.

That upgrade is only for if you already own the previous factory plugins that came with Protools interfaces, for example, if you had bought the 002 rack factory from a dealer.

When PT8 came out, they changed what was included when you buy the factory versions of the interfaces, mainly adding the classic compressors (BF2A, Fairchild, etc.). This upgrade is to bring the older factory bundles up to speed.

If you don't already own the factory bundle, then you would buy the whole thing standalone, here:

As you can see, it's expensive, and it would be way cheaper to just buy the specific ones you want 2nd hand, from this forum, ebay, or the Airusersblog.com.

If you do this be aware that some of the ilok assets that were upgraded are now identified as V4 ilok assets. Pultec Bundle V4, Mooger Fooger Bundle V4 etc. The older ilok assets don;t work with the new V8.0 installers so in time they will probably become obsolete.
