Default Open sessions using old plugs (medium delay, 1176)

Hi. I have some projects where the original version of the Digi delays (medium delay, long delay) were used as well as Bombfactory La-2a and 1176 which now don't exist except as La-3a and BF76. Is there a way the old Digi delay plug in instances can be pulled up with the session setting intact using Delay II plugs (the new versions)? Same with La-2a and 1176. I have the La-3a and BF76 TDM plugs. Any thoughts? Are we just screwed when opening older seesions even using Digi plugs? Thanks!

Mod Delay I is in the unsupported folder on your install disc.

My Bomb Factory LA-2A works, no problem in PT 7.2. 1176...not so much. The only way I could figure to work around is to find someone on an Mix system, and pay them to notate your 1176 settings.

Yeah, I can drive a couple hours down to a friend's house that has my old Mix Plus but I can't believe that Digi would create a version 2 of the delays and not have settings be backward compatible. Anyone getting this to work in some way?

I'm not sure what the Mod Delay response above is actually. I'm not referring to the mod delay plug, only slap, short, medium, long digi delay I to digi delay II's

This is a problem for me, also. One advantage of using PT is to mix in-the-box with total session recall. When the plugs are not backward compatible, it screws this up. I'd love to see Digi (and plugin developers) keep this in mind in the future. It's one thing to be able to "open" a PT5 or 6 session in PT7, and another matter to have total recall. Digi's EQ/comp plugs have been replaced by new versions, too. My only solution is to keep an older PT system lying around just to handle the occassional old session recall. Or, I could do no work for the next year while I do nothing but open old sessions, consolidate all tracks, "freeze" the plugs, etc... Digi?

The Mod Delay I plug-in file is really the short, medium, and long delay I plug-ins that you see in the plug-in list in Pro Tools. So if you need a delay plug-in whose name ends in I (the roman numeral), then you need that file from the unsupported folder on your installation disc.
