Default 4k Monitor, do fonts look more crisp vs 2k?

I'm putting a 32" monitor in my center speaker sophit wall. This will be for inter room communication via cameras (only need 1080p for that) but it can also be an extra PT monitor. I already have two monitors I use to the left and right of my C24 so the center monitor is really just an option when not using it for cams. It will be about 5.5 feet from the mix position so it might not even be useful from that distance.

I haven't used a 4k monitor and wondering if it makes a difference when viewing PT screens. Those fonts seem to get more blury every year (can't imaging why lol) so the more crisp the better. Wondering if I can use the full 4k resolution for the extra pixels, then scale the size up so the fonts are the same size as they would be if the screen was displaying 1080p so effectively the same size font would have 4x more pixels.

Can anyone comment on their 4k experience?

Scaling looks awful on Pro Tools.
I have a second screen 4k 65" for picture but use it for Pro Tools mix window sometimes. Looks great at 1:1. But I've seen Pro Tools scaled on a lot of things and it always looks bad. Haven't tried it with 2018.1. Maybe the Metal GUI framework has improved that.

Do you find the fonts look more clear (detailed) at 4k?

No. Same as my WQHD 27" monitor. Just a larger area/more real estate.

Thanks for the info. Based on my research here with a lot of people complaining here that the 4k scaling with PT is not well implemented, and a discussion with a well informed salesperson at Best Buy, I purchased a 1440p 32" monitor (HP). I'm going to just hook it up and see for myself, with the option to return it within 2 weeks.

I have a 4k 49" screen to (not have to)deal with scaling issues.
