Saw that; was interesting to see what you had to go through. Used to run Windows systems and never trusted uninstallers (even from Device Manager) to get everything. I'd find old folders in the programs section of the c: drive, old entries in the Registry. Had to spend a lot of time doing manual Registry cleaning and that ain't fun and can royally screw up your computer.

I use Ccleaner to help keep the reg clean, but it doesn't always get everything.

I'm not sure if my problem was because of how Windows works, or just how the old drivers were written. Funny thing was that no other program saw the old drivers, only Pro Tools 11! PT10,9,8, BFD2 Standalone, Geist Standalone, Synth Squad Standalone, Reason 7, ect.... None of them had multiple "Eleven Rack" choices. Programs and Features only had 1 Eleven Rack driver.

You are right about manually cleaning out the registry. I'm usually pretty careful, but one time I was in a hurry and following some instructions online, I forget for what exactly-something wasn't working right. The instructions said to delete a reg entry, I accidentally had the whole folder high-lighted when I hit delete....

Yeah, the OS was now a brick

Luckily I had a complete working Image I could just copy over

For those on Windows 7/8 who are just getting the 11R, this should not be a problem though.

Ok, so there are some weird things going on here for sure.

If I boot my PC, launch PT11. Open a Recent session that was last saved in PT10, then choose LOAD FROM COMPUTER in the mini window, it works!

Then close that session, create a blank session in PT11, choose Load From Computer......... nothing.... click again and I get a Runtime error R6025 i think??

Ok, so I have confirmed that if I create a session in PT10, then open it in PT11, Load From Computer works. If I then close that session and create a new one in PT11, Load From Computer does NOT work. Still testing other methods...

Brian: Is there any way you can back date to Win 7? Maybe it's Win 8 causing the problem?

It may be. I can't go back to Win 7 on my main or backup PC's because of the upgrade licenses, its just a huge hassle, BUT I do have another Win 7 laptop I could try PT11 on. I may be able to do that later or tomorrow.
