Default Version 2.8.1/Static IP address

I have just updated my system to 2.8.1v2 and then updated the ECX software using the provided CD. I attempted to set a static IP address, but the system continues to only use the one provided by DHCP. I have rebooted the system, but still continue to have the same issue. I click the button to change it, receive an option to continue to use DHCP or enter an IP, enter the proper IP on the next screen and click "apply" and the IP does not change.

What do I need to do to enter a static IP? I had no issues with my previous version (2.6.3).

Hello mike

I did experience the same, Finale I also did set a gate-way adress. Now its working although I do need to set the tick box (in Ethernet control) to enable so now and then....

Hi Mike K,

We are aware of this issue and are actively working to resolve it. In the meantime, you can use this workaround which should clear up the problem for good.

- Boot the system to the desktop. Config Mode>Options>System>Control-click on the Shutdown button.
- Click Start and then My Computer.
- Click on the "Folders" button in the My Computer window, or View>Explorer Bar>Folders.
- Click on Control Panel and then Network connections.
- Right-click on the Local Area Connection and select Properties from the pop-up menu.
- In the Local Area Connection Properties window select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click the Properties button.
- Click "Use the following IP address" and enter the desired settings.
- Click OK to both Properties windows and then launch the "Return to VENUE D-Show" alias on the desktop.

Regards,
-Mike Z

Hmmmm. I've updated and use a Mac Extreme router - use a static address - and haven't had this issue.

Not all systems suffer from this issue. In most cases it will work as expected.

You could also go into your router and add a Static DHCP entry.
