Default BF Clip Remover ... Help?

Hey Hey!

I've been working on a project and used the BombFactory Clip Remover several times the last time I had the session open.
But tonight I'm working on it, haven't changed a thing, and when I tried to use BF Clip Remover, it gave me an error and crashed ProTools. (The error said something about Rewire, I think).

I tried several times and the same thing happened so I decided to go ahead and update to 6.4. Now I'm trying to do the same thing but getting a DAE error -7401 each time I try to process the Clip removal.

Any clues for me?

Thanks,
Archmart

I 've never had this plug in work for me

It turns the wave into an over normalized region

clip remover is a fake application. you can´t repair clipped signals.

if there aren´t too may clipppings edit them by hand.

I hope you have the original recordings still.

Okay, so what does the clip remover do, or supposed to do?

I tried using it and it turned my whole recording project into a bunch of static.

2 easy preventative fixes...

1. get a proper input signal that doesnt clip
2. unless it clips so hard that you hear it distort, did it really clip? (meaning in the final mix down will you even know where the little red light came on on the snare track when he hit that one rim shot?)

sorry for not being able to address your actual problem with the error messages... but if the track is clipping that bad, record it over again because I doubt its useable.

Clip remover doesn't automatically detect the clips in a large region- trying to make it do that leads to the region full of static.

Instead, highlight only the clipped section of the wave and hit that with the clip remover. Its pretty much only for saving a great take with a few ugly clips and gets tedious fast if there are lots of clips or extended areas of clipping. That can't be fixed.

Take care,
Chris
