Thumbs up Venue wireless network

Hi all
Can anyone tell me if I can use an apple airport express connected directly to the ECx card to create a wireless network, or do I need a router as well?

Thanks in advance!

they work but you have to shut off all the extra's like airtunes and the range is not so great.

Thanks djaudio,
what sort of range do they have? I'm looking for a router which is small enough to fit in a tour bag for convenience, but has good range esp if I need to do monitors from foh and need to ring out the monitors whilst on stage.

I use an extreme for this purpose and it is fantastic. Range is great. Then I use an express for air tunes from my Mac notebook. make sure it's "N" and I'd recommend security so you don't get an unwelcome guest...

Thanks for your kind suggestions, is there a cheeper and smaller alternative which is as good as the extreme? I think this will be quite a sexy setup when it's combined with the ipad!

I personally could not get the airport express to work at all with ECx.

Any tips?

Are you using Ultra VNC?
Have you configured the IP of the Venue and your notebook?
Can you try pinging the Venue?
What error messages are you getting?

I apologise for my late response! I use jaadu vnc on the iPhone. It works fine, only trouble is, is that the screen is too small to be practical, hence the reference to the ipad as this will have a more workable screen size. (also providing that jaadu will work on the ipad)!

THe iPad should be able to run the same apps as the iPhone, so assuming it can support iPad's higher resolution and the Mocha or Jaadu VNC clients it should rock!
