Default aes popping to driverack

i recently switched from analog left right out of the console to a single xlr from the aes output to our dbx 4820 which has aes inputs. the audio is really clean except for an occasional pop. it seems like a sample rate pop. i cant adjust the driverack down to 48KHz and i cant turn the sc48 to96KHz. any suggestions?

In the manual, on page 64...
Quote:
The Sample Rate menu has two pages and provides access to the clock source that the DriveRack 4800 and 4820 are using. The selections available within this menu include Internal 48 and 96kHz Clocks, AES/EBU Channels 1,2 or 3,4, and External BNC Word Clock. Additionally the AES/EBU input channels can be sample rate converted to follow some other clock source. All processing within the 4800 and 4820 occurs at the sample rate selected in this menu. The AES/EBU outputs of the DriveRack devices are also clocked to this sample rate.
DriveRack manual can be downloaded here.

ive changed the outputs from the sc48 to the single aes output. this is going directly into the aes input of the driverack. the driverack is set to 48khz aes input.occasionally there is still a pop. seems like i need to set a master and slave? shouldnt the driverack be the master?

Hey Soundbobby,

This certainly sounds like the pops you'll hear if the clocks of the two systems are drifting apart. If you haven't already you should connect the wordclock Out of the SC48 to the Wordclock In of the dbx 4820. Let us know if this resolves your issue or not.

All the best!
Aaron
