Ryzen 2700x or Intel?

Hey everyone,

I'm finishing up my new PC build and am just trying to determine whether I want to go Ryzen or Intel. I apologize in that I know this has been discussed a few times, but I'm just looking for anyone's most recent experience with AMD's platform in particular, as I live near a Micro Center and they have amazing deals on Ryzen CPU + MOBO combos. I'm currently considering the Ryzen 2700x and ASUS ROG Strix X470-F Gaming AM4 ATX (considering this MOBO b/c I read it has very good sound). Anyone out there use this board?

I realize that I'm sacrificing Thunderbolt capability by not going Intel, but I have a Scarlett 2i4 interface, so that wouldn't be a huge deal.

My main Pro Tools use would be demoing. Usually no more than 24 tracks at a time & I like using virtual instruments as well.

I realize that something like a 2700x and/or 8700K is overkill for just audio production, but I also will be video editing & gaming at 4K.

Anyways, if anyone has any input on whether I should pay the extra $ and go with Intel, or if AMD Ryzen is a stable enough platform at this point, that'd be fantastic. Thank you in advance!!
