Default BFD - Works but Plugin Not Recognized

Hello,

I've installed BFD Lite v.1.5, which now works great in "Standalone" mode.

However, when I try to instantiate it in ProTools LE 7.3, BFD does not appear in the Insert\Multi-Channel Plug-In\Instrument drop-down menu.

Does anyone know what specific BFD file(s) should go into the Plugins folder? I've looked, and there are presently no BFD files there at all.

Thanks.

Not sure how that is possible, as BFD Lite (at least the one that came with my Pro Tools package) only works as a plugin. Are you sure you are installing the one that came with Pro Tools? Any other version of BFD Lite will not work with Pro Tools (well... not without hte VST-RTAS adapter).

In mine, there are;
  • BFD Lite.dpm
  • BFD Lite.dpm.rsr
  • BFD Lite.dll
  • BFD Lite_runtime.log

SG,

Thanks for the info. Apparently that's what's going on. This BFD Lite 1.5 disk came with an Alesis Performance Pad and does not have 3 out of 4 of the modules you listed as being in your plugins folder.

I had originally used the original v.1.0 disk that came with Ignition Pack, and I could load the plugin, but only got "pops" instead of samples for the snare and toms (bass drum and cymbals were okay).

Then I loaded the BFD Lite 1.5 upgrade from the DigiDesign website and could no longer find the plugin in the dropdown menu. That's when I decided to start fresh with this Alesis disk.

It's obvious that I must replace this software with the Digi version, but I still don't know how I'm going to solve the "pops" problem or the missing plugin problem if I upgrade to v.1.5.

If you have time, you can see the posts I've traded with GothBoy about this in the other "BFD Lite" thread (probably still on this page). Any advice you could give would be appreciated!

Thanks.

Default Problems Solved!

I reinstalled the original Ignition Pack version of BFD 1.0 along with the Digi 1.5 upgrade (FOR ABOUT THE SIXTH TIME) and now everything seems to be working correctly.

I have no idea why it's working now, but I'm just going to be happy and touch nothing!

Thanks GothBoy and spkguitar for encouraging me to go on.
