Digidesign 002 to pro tools 10

So I have an old digidesign 002 and I got pro tools 10 and hooked it all up to my windows 7. According to the manual and what I've seen, if the settings are right, the 002 should just go into pro tools mode when connected to the computer. Stand-alone mode works fine, but it won't enter pro tools mode. I have the 002 hooked up to the computer and it recognizes it, but pro tools mode still doesn't work. What am I doing wrong?

You say Pro Tools doesn't work, explain exactly what is happening. Have you looked in the Playback Engine menu and selected the 002?

I just mean that pro tools MODE doesn't work for my digi 002- when i enter pro tools on my computer, the 002 doesn't enter that mode. But you're probably right because when I look at the playback engine the only two options are "SB Audigy 2 ZS ASIO [E000]" and "Creative ASIO" with the default set at the first. I don't see the digi anywhere on there- does that mean I installed the two incorrectly?

After you install that driver and restart, please let us know if your issue is resolved.

When you turn On the 002, Host 1394 must blink at the front of the panel. when you set up the 002 with pro tools, flash light turns on; is not an automatic setting on Pro Tools, You have to Set Up, Another way the check If your System see the 002, is on the Windows sound system, Playback devices, must be there 002, if not, check the firewire cable, or where you connect the interface, Remember that, 002 can't be install on firewire Hubs, maybe check if you change the firewire connector on the back of the 002, to the other firewire port.

Tom, you seem to have the knowledge for this. I have PT MP9 and a Fast Track Pro. I wanted to upgrade so I bought an 002 console. I have since figured out that that combo won't work for some reason. What is my best choice? Go to PT10 but not upgrade to 11? Thanks in advance for your help.
