OS 9.0.4 to 9.1 - is it worth it?
Mac is still new to me, so I'm a little reluctant to play around w the OS. Is it worth upgrading to 9.1? potential problems?

Re: OS 9.0.4 to 9.1 - is it worth it?
When I went up to 9.1 I didn't notice any changes whatsoever, and PT still works so I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Re: OS 9.0.4 to 9.1 - is it worth it?
9.1 seems a bit faster to me.
My overloaded PT sessions redraw faster - however, I don’t know if that’s due to 9.1 or PT 5.1 since I upgraded both at the same time. FWIW: The 9.1 upgrade is a piece of cake. All your custom extension sets will remain in place. It’s only an upgrade, not a new OS. ------------------ bassmac |

Re: OS 9.0.4 to 9.1 - is it worth it?
I had a strange problem with 9.1 where it did not recognize any secondary partitions that I had...(HDT 4.0 driver) These were on system drives, not audio drives..
I went scurrying back to 9.04 when I encountered this.. |

Re: OS 9.0.4 to 9.1 - is it worth it?
I use Logic and a Digi 001 on a DP 500 Mac. Under 9.04 I crashed hourly. Under 9.1 I only crash about once every 9-10 days, this over the last month or so. I haven't seen any downside to 9.1 except for the ponderous (71 MB) download.

Use this and you can get 9.1 down to about 45 MB!

Re: OS 9.0.4 to 9.1 - is it worth it?
9.1 seems pretty stable to me. between 9.1 and the 5.1 ptle upgrade Ive got a good system running. and to tell a secret, I surf the web and play rune ( with ptle session open in the background) no problem. Seems to have fixed the annoying wake up no digi hardwarerecognized problem too. I even use a real cheap scsi card I got at best buy for 45 bucks – the mac doest go into deep sleep becuase of that card, but it does everything else well.
