Default Pro-Tools On A Tablet PC. [Pics Included]

I snapped a pic this morning and thought I'd just post it. This is the Lenovo (IBM) X61 Tablet running Pro-Tools 8 LE. 1.8GHz Core 2 Duo. It runs flawlessly (even off the system drive).

You can see the pen (used as a mouse) next to it, although on this particular model, you can use your fingers to select menus, move faders on the Mix window and for anything else you'd want to. The MBOX Micro looks black because I put electrical tape around it. I loathe the bright blue color. This is an older model (2007), so this and the even older X41 (2005) are going for steals on eBay right now. The latest model is the Lenovo X200 Tablet, which lacks Firewire.

Good stuff epu!

There are a few guys who use PT on the Cintiq monitors with success. I was looking at one of those myself a few years back.

Oh wow. Those monitors look awesome, albeit a bit pricey ($2000 yikes!). Lol.

At one time they were close to $5000 about 8 years back.

I have to admit that I haven't had a chance to play around with the Ideapads and new SL series. I HAVE however read up on the models. I'd personally stay away from anything but Lenovo's (IBM) T or X series. The T series always uses the latest intel chipsets which usually correspond to what Digidesign Lists as compatible. From back in the 6.1 days, Digi would frequently list the IBM (now Lenovo) T series (Example being the T43 or T30) as being tested and approve.

These Thinkpads work like TANKS for Pro-Tools. I swear up and down I have NEVER received ANY error on any compatible Thinkpad. The X series are minature portable versions of the T series using the same chipset. They always work. To my knowledge, The SL and Ideapad series are consumer models for which Lenovo has appropriately scaled back components for. These components being perhaps the chipset, ATOM processor (In the new Ideapad S series), and other things for which I am not sure whether Pro-Tools would be compatible with or not.
