Default Sync 2 x 002R systems?

My colleague and I both have 002R systems running on G4 Powerbooks. It would be very useful on occasions to be able to sync them in order to record up to 32 tracks.

We can't find a direct reference to this in the manual and wonder whether anyone knows if this can be done and whether we would need any additional equipment to do so, given that the 002R has midi facilities.

Our experience of sync related areas is minimal, working mostly in audio only.

Thanks for any advice.

Rod.
