Default what is \"assertion in \'BDM_workspace.cpp\' line\"

what does this mean, "assertion in 'BDM_workspace.cpp' line"? It just started showing up as a warning dialogue box.

(I just added an external firewire hard drive today, if that could possibly be a factor)

thanks...
