midi trigger
How do I create a midi trigger from (let's say) a snare drum so I can replace it with another sound?

Re: midi trigger
In an edit situation just place midi note at every snare. Time consuming.
A midi drum module like D4 DM5 .. Vdrums etc will do the trick. D4 second hand is worth a look. Seems there should be a plug for this but midi related plugs just aren't in PT yet. |

Re: midi trigger
why using midi @ all? try using soundreplacer plug. get the audio off your midid device, and use it with soundreplacer. fastest way i know for replacing drum sounds.... works great.

Re: midi trigger
because midi opens the door to samplers and other sound devices.
midi is also a fantastic music production tool that has been with us since the early 80's. midi files are small and easy to send via email to other musicians and you can swap arrangement ideas and new songs using files the size of text files. (you can't change tempo like you can in the midi world) unless you start using midi on something you will never know. I often have a midi file underneath a drum track even if I have used Beat Detective. |
