Default MP3 Encoders?

My MP3 encoder trial version ran out on my 001. Do I need to buy the real version at teh digidesign website, or are there any free versions that will work? Thanks, Ward

Any MP3 encoder with the Lame codec is great. I use dBPowerAMP Music Converter. Stupid name, but you can encode wav to mp3 with a right-click on the filename(s).

i like goldwave. its a simple audio editor and you can save as mp3. you need an mp3 codec as well. for that i use lame encoder. it works great. at the lame website you should download this thing called razor lame, which is a front-end for the encoder (if you don't want to use goldwave)...

buy the mp3 export option....it's cheap, and is one of the better encoders out there.

I know a lot of you say how good the LAME encoder is...I just don't care for it at all.

Alright, so I splurged and bought the MP3 encoder from the digidesign page. But now it won't work. It's downloaded, but everytime I try to bounce to MP3 it tells me my trial version is expired and it won't work. I've tried opening the actual file, but my computer gets an error message that says my computer can't fgure out which program to open up the .dll file with. Any suggestions? Ward
