Help!! Clicks and Pops at 96k
I can run sessions all day at 48k or 44.1, but when I try 96k I get c and p's...
Running PT HD accel 4 Intel, using Ad16x as master to 192 to 96 i/o's.. Looks like the 192 and 96 won't loop sync...Thanks |

Re: Help!! Clicks and Pops at 96k
[QUOTE=crizdee;1964100]Hi,
For 96k i have to double the buffer size of that for 48k. some native plugs will peak the cpu and cause C & P's I don't think that's the case with HD, at least I never had to before... Anybody out there who has or had my type of set-up know what's going on? Apogee is digi link'd to Core Card, and 192 is digi link'd to Accel Card then expansion port to 96... WC cables are: AD16x to 192 to 96... Thanks |

Re: Help!! Clicks and Pops at 96k
AFAIK, you can't loop sync with an AD16x, you should just use the external WC inputs and outputs and set your 192 and 96 to External WC in hardware setup.

Re: Help!! Clicks and Pops at 96k
First of all the most overlooked issue with apogee and avid/ digidesign hardware
Is the clocking It is well known ( just search DUC ) issue that apogee clock out is over the desired 5v p/p that the avid/ digidesign hardware loves to see Almost all these issue can be solved using. A BNC "T" connector and a BNC 75 Ohm terminator The apogee clock overdrives the clock inputs of the avid/ digidesign hardware Just put the clock input into the "T" with the term resistor @ the 192 / 96 clock input and it should stabilize this clocking issue Feel free to email me directly for more specific details FYI this is all posted in the Apogee support pages, if you can find it through the maze of documents on the apogee web pages DO NOT USE LOOP SYNC if you are using a apogee converter use the apogee or another clock as the master source Alternatively without using any term. BNC Resistors USE BNC "T" on all WC inputs and feed the chain with the apogee as the master ( NOT USING THE WC outputs on the avid items ) only WC OUTPUT IS THE Apogee as the master clock

Re: Help!! Clicks and Pops at 96k
Thanks guys... Dude I was heading to Radio Shack to get the T and Term connectors, then I saw this;
From the Apogee X Card Manual; Because the word clock inputs of Digidesign interfaces are internally terminated, its not possible to configure clock with BNC T connectors when connected 2 or more Digidesign interfaces. If this is the case, then the way Greg explains is the way to go, correct? Rob |

Re: Help!! Clicks and Pops at 96k
Guys, why don't you just put the two Digi interfaces into loop sync, and then connect the Apogee to external clock input. Should work.

Re: Help!! Clicks and Pops at 96k
I don't think you can lock to loop sync and External WC at the same time, unless you have a Sync I/O (or Sync HD). I believe you will have to use my previous suggestion. If the WC output of the 192 (to feed the 96) does not mirror the input, the OP will have to use a WC distribution amp from the AD16x to feed Ext WC to the 192 and 96 individually or use a WC masterclock (with at least 3 WC outputs) to slave all the ADCs.
