Frankly, the only solution I know of would be to write a script that either A) automatically deteles them [one will appear on the root level of every drive that is mounted (including an iPod)] after you quit Pro Tools, or B) puts a menu item in the Finder to allow you to run the script manually.

Other than that, there is no solution yet to this [painstakingly annoying] phenomenon, besides just manually throwing them away. For someone who likes to keep his drives optimized in a specific way, this is extremely frustrating.

If anyone has a better idea, let me know.

Edit: BTW, this has nothing to do with any specific set-up whatsoever (ie, MBox vs. 002, G4 vs. G5, etc.) Albeit irritating, any Pro Tools 6 set-up running in OS X will create these folders which, FWIW, supply Pro Tools with the volume information about the various drives that are present. This is an awkward method to accomplish this task IMO, bet hey-- who am I to critique Digi? Certainly not a programmer, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

under 10.3.3, i've noticed some odd behavior with my bundled plugins. My version of IK's Amplitube LE, running as an RTAS, became destructive to the file and refused to bypass. The file was permanently overdriven, and when i tried to bypass it for another try, it still stayed on.

i deleted Amplitube, restarted, and reinstalled it, and it seems to be working now.

anyone get these sorts of problems?
