That's the exact one I got, and I love it!. I'm running Win7x64 on it. It never had it so good. I kept my XP partition for retrieval/salvage operations, and when I boot to it, I feel like I'm stepping back a century. Which, I guess, technically it is.

Guy puts a link in his signature, guy checks it out. Nice site Mykhal!! Love the tracks. Your bass skills are outstanding! Definitely hear Wooten and Miller influences. I play keys a lil' bit.

BTW, is that D'Layna from Vocal Downloads on some of your tracks? Do you know her or are those her samples? I've used her samples on some worked I've done. Amazing voice!

I'm wanting to build a new system (on a budget, of course) and would love to get some feedback from you guys. My current system is from 2007 - Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 2.13GHz 4M shared L2 Cache. 2 GB DDR2 (the most my ASUS motherboard will allow). The system I'm wanting to build consists of the following:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400 Yorkfield 2.66GHz 4MB L2 Cache

GIGABYTE GA-P43T-ES3G LGA 775 Intel P43 ATX Intel Motherboard

SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD502HJ 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache

G.SKILL NS 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333

ASUS EN8400GS Silent/P/512M GeForce 8400 GS 512MB 64-bit DDR2 PCI Express 2.0 x16
...or...
MSI N8400GS-D512D3H/LP GeForce 8400 GS 512MB 64-bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16

COOLER MASTER Elite RC-330-KKR1 Black SECC ATX Mid Tower Computer Case 350W Power Supply

Of course I would love an i7, but that can't happen at the moment. Let me know what you think and if you have any other suggestions.

Do you think I would benefit more from something like this?...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115037

It has a larger cache size & more GHz, but it's only 2 cores. Of the two, which would work better for PT?

No, probably better off with the Quad. I picked up my Q9550 on ebay (new) for $170 last year. I wouldn't be too surprised if you could get that or better for the same money if you poke around.
