Default Using Latch automation

When I use the latch automation, I can set a point, move down the clip and set another point and the automation has reset. I am not sure that I fully understand this process, or maybe there is something occurring that I need to be aware of.

Suggestions?

I run PT 10.3.7 on an iMac running Lion (not Mtn. Lion).

Thanks!

Default Re: Using Latch automation

Latch automation is a mode where touched knobs and faders will keep writing automation until you stop playback. HD and CPT systems allows you to prime as many parameters as you like prior to playback, and they will keep writing automation until you stop.

Sounds to me like you're manually editing automation playlists?

Sounds like you're trying to do an "offline" automation edit? Is the Transport in Stop?

Latch (as with the other modes) is for the writing of realtime automation when the transport is in play. (going to disregard Latch Prime in Stop and Preview mode for now)

Start with a basic tutorial like this one. I have no idea if it's any good, didn't watch it, just found it via a search.
