Playback latency = rushed parts?
I'm tracking through an Apogee Symphony into PT via USB. I'm using Low Latency monitoring so my tracking audio is direct and the playback audio is obviously coming through PT (again, via USB).
When I do an overdub and play it back, it always seems noticeably ahead. For the sake of argument, let's assume I'm very comfortable playing to a click and so this is not a case of rushing... this is like the whole track is shifted back (fwd in time) 10ms or more. I literally have to nudge every track after tracking to get it to lay right. Which Solution? 1) monitor through PT so at least playback and tracking audio will have the same amount of latency. 2) get a Symphony 64 card or Thunderbridge 3) ??
