Default 002 on Multiple Machines, User License?

Is the PT-LE that comes with 002R licenced for (1) machine or (1) user? The reason I ask, it would be my desire to install PT-LE on a laptop to do remote recording with the 002R plugged into my laptops firewire port, but then get back to the studio, transfer files/sessions and then plug my 002R into my desktop for mixing?

Is this a violation of the 002R user agreement? It seems I read that PT-LE won't run standalone if the 002R isn't plugged in, which would really limit the ability to pirate anyway...

I'm considering exchanging my 001 for an 002R, but, if this is a limitation, then I may have to keep it to have (2) setups, which I'd rather not do...

Please advise,

You are correct in that you cannot run Protools without hardware connected, but there's nothing written into the software to prevent you from installing it on more than one computer, and swapping the HW device around.

You can use the software on as many machines as you want. The restriction as Where said is the hardware. You can even use the iLok plugs on as many machines as you want - but of course you need to move the iLok.
