Default Pro Tools 2018.10 Crash when Import - Overlay new over existing playlist

I have a simple DX session which I import into the main feature film session about 200 tracks. The PT 2018.10 crash each time when I select Match Tracks and then Import - Overlay new over existing playlist. Here is the video:

We've had this issue for a couple of years on the Win and Mac systems. On 2018 and 2019. Currently on 2019-6. It occasionally works but the editors have no faith so the function is ignored. No workaround that I know of. It's made import/overlay useless for us. Hope someone has an answer. Avid doesn't. We've asked.

I also have this issue.
The workaround for me is a bit strange.
I backup and then delete my preferences (with Pete Gates PT Prefs).
Import session data - Overlay on existing playlists then works as expected.
Once I've completed the import, I restore my prefs from the backup and continue working as before.
There is obviously an issue with my prefs but I can't work out what it is, and in every other respect, my system is rock solid.
Perhaps this will work for others too.
