Default WAVES Mastering bundle, pops during parameter adj.

I have the platinum bundle installed on OSX and OS9.
Everything works fine except for the mastering linear plugins.
Everytime I adjust a parameter, I get a nasty click, and or pop.On both OS 's.
this happens only on the linear plugs except for the L2.
Yes I have the latest waveshell installed.

All of the Waves phase linear plugs (EQ, Multiband Comp) generate a significant amount of latency. If you try to adjust them as the music is playing, I believe that the nasty sounds you hear are considered a normal condition.

if you can't adjust the paramaters while the music is playing, then these plugs are useless IMO.
From what I heard, the Sony plugins don't have these artefacts while producing also tons of latency.

True, it talks about it in the instructions. I think it is just on the eq though. I find it a bit anoying to hear the clicks but you can still adjust while playing the material.

I used the demo on a project a few weeks ago and I agreet that the delay and no real time sweeping for frequencies is a bit of a drag. On the other hand, the EQ sounded incredible! It might be worth some getting used to because of the results that it generates.

Sorry, didn't design it...just letting you know that what you're experiencing is considered 'normal'.

It's true that the Oxford EQ does not add these artifacts while sweeping, however I believe it is induced by the fact that the Waves Mastering plug ins are 'phase linear' and there is a lot more number crunching going on. I could be wrong.

I have only heard pops on the low frequency band of the Lin EQ Broadband, which is specifically mentioned in the manual. No other pops or clicks when adjsting settings for me - very happy with it.
Call Waves and see what they say.

Thanks guys for confirming the same problem I heared 2 days ago.

I guess the industry has just redefined "Real Time Plug-in".
Apparently it means REAL TIME + OR - 100 ms.

It was just impossible to set LinEQ when everything it did was so late.

Wonder if a G5 would help a little.

Linear phase filter technology is very different from the non linear phase technology( Waves RenEQ, Q10, Sony and almost all the other EQs)

The benefits of the linear phase is that there is no phase distortion also the filter sounds very different from the non linear phase.

The downsides to using linear phase is that is has a very long latency and that control of the filters is not smooth
