Recording from SC48 to MacBook Air

Has anyone managed to get any setup that allows recording from the SC48 onto the MB Air?
Or is it simply not possible at all.

With the Belkin Thunderbolt hub with firewire, it should be possible so long as you have a high end Air configuration with the fastest processor. Until someone tries it though, it's hard to be 100% sure. I've been able to capture uncompressed HD video on MB Air using Thunderbolt Promise disk arrays. But that's not very processor intensive. Capturing with compressed video codecs actually takes a lot more processing horsepower and doesn't do well with Macbook Air for some codecs. I don't know how PT would compare processor usage wise doing multi track capture. It would be an interesting test. I have access to a top of the line air. If I acquire a hub, I'll give it a go.

I used a Macbook Pro with Quad i7 - I would get the odd error doing long records 90 minutes I would get 3 to stops. I now use a Mac Pro recoring long passes with zero stops. IMO laptops are not for doing anything that is critcal.
They are good for checking you email.
Power/processor/buss/memory are all compromised of laptops for portability.
