Proper steps before actual record
Hello
I am not new to protools and somewhat of an intermediate user. My band is ready to record out demo and I want to get the best sound possible. doesnt everybody?. Anyways i wanted to know if I should be eq, compressing, using plugin's ect before recording or can i just get proper levels and deal with that stuff after during the mix process. Is there any proper steps I should be taking? dadio2002 |

Re: Proper steps before actual record
What's your setup?
In general, record unaffected signals, and use plug-ins sparingly until the tracking is done.

Re: Proper steps before actual record
Definitely best to get the best, cleanest signal into the computer before you start messing with effects of any type!
it makes mixing MUCH easier if you start with clear high quality signal. That is accomplished mainly through mic placement and musicianship. |
