Default Getting into Video ......

Not really sure of what I need to work to picture.

Considering using Virtual VTR or Final Cut Pro on a seperate Mac.

Looking for suggestions for an effective but inexpensive video card to get me started with good analogue capture.

Is Virtual VTR any good ?

Can I Sync PT and Final Cut Pro on different computers ?

Is 9 Pin the way forward or will MMC do ? I want to be able to scrub both in sync.....

What to I need for DVD authoring ?

Is there any rescources for intro to desktop video explaining synchronisation etc.

Help greatly appreciated.

Default Re: Getting into Video ......

Go with either the DC30 (Miro) or the Fuse (Aurora)
Don't work with tape !
There's good info on the boards here on both cards: pro's and con's of course, but you won't regret it !.

For DVD you'd need something like MPACK (Astarte) to start with: it can convert Quicktime (DC30/Fuse captures for that matter) to MPEG 2, the video-standard for DVD..
But.....
You'd need a BIG budget to make it to a DVD: burner ($ 4000) and DVD Authoring software ($$$$$)..
