Re: Pro Tools 2020.5
2020.5 is behaving very sluggishly on my machine running 10.14.16 with 64gb of Ram. The timeline lags on a predictable loop and I get mini beachballs constantly. Happens in sessions with or without plugins on my normal work drive and the internal machine drive. So frustrated. Going back to 2020.3 for the moment. Unreal. Lately it seems like Avid solves one problem and creates a different one with every build.

Re: Pro Tools 2020.5
Hello....
I have updated to protools 2020.5, PROTOOLS is working fine but when i open Logic Pro X using the HD native it opens, play back fine but it does not seeing any signal ON THE RECORDING TRACK even if it is on armed or recording status. BTW the previous version 2020.3 where working without this problem. mac OSX 10.14.6 |

Hi, welcome to the community.
Did you also update the HD driver?

Re: Pro Tools 2020.5
Yea, updated to the new driver as well. Running 2020.5 on a 10.15.2 - 2019 Machine with 64GB of RAM. It was running pretty well on 2020.3 and now it is a few key commands behind where ever my fingers are... Or if I am playing back the cursor will freeze, the machine will mini beach ball or just freeze (audio keeps playing) then "flash" the cursor will jump up to where it is actually playing from. It's not deadly but super super annoying. Like I will probably go back to 2020.3 if it keeps up.

Re: Pro Tools 2020.5
2020.5 is qualified for 10.15.3 not dot-two so that might be your problem. Hard to say. I myself am running 10.15.5 and 2020.5 behaves nicely

Re: Pro Tools 2020.5
I was drag assing on the OS update. 10.15.2 was what came on the machine and what I have been building on. Your thinking 10.15.5 has been solid?

Re: Pro Tools 2020.5
Thats a negative for me. Update produces more of the same though I did get a nice note about "existing software on your system loaded a system extension signed by "AVID Technology Inc" which will be incompatible with a future version of macOS... So there is that.
Kind of sucks to have a rockstar machine that should rip and it constantly does the mini-hiccup dance. Does it across several sessions, so not just 24/96 sessions. And these are not killer sessions. They are very manageable. Bummed. C.

Re: Pro Tools 2020.5
Reverted to 2020.3 but still doing it. Need a solution as this is a killer. Just slows everything down.

Re: Pro Tools 2020.5
UI random freezing issue should now be fixed.
